The Role - How you’ll make an impact: 

Our client company’s Sales Engineers are part of a creative, hard-working, and resourceful sales org. that’s fueling the growth for our client company. In this highly strategic pre-sales role, you are the valued technical expert and partner to the Account Executive team, providing pre-sales technical support to customers and prospects that are evaluating our client company’s services. You will use in-depth technical knowledge to provide expertise to Account Executive counterparts, customers, and prospects through technical sales presentations and service demonstrations. In addition, you will work closely with the Account Executives to assess potential Partner referral products to accelerate and exceed the customer needs. The ideal candidate will have the ability to listen, empathize, and uncover true pain points, translating business needs into demonstrable solutions. You will make meaningful cross-functional relationships within our client company along with current and potential our client company customers. The SE team is a critical component of our Go-To-Market model. Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities: 

  • Proactively scopes the technical solution required to address client requirements, assesses clients’ needs, and recommends solutions that optimize value for both the client and our client company

  • Secures input from all necessary solution stakeholders, internal and external. Adapts solutions, as necessary, to ensure an appropriate approach 

  • Coordinates closely with the Delivery team to align solution design, Engineer skills, and the clients’ business requirements 

  • Meets assigned targets for sales growth with assigned Account Executives 

  • Own the technical presales process and ensure the success of opportunities converted to projects 

  • Use in-depth services knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales and customers through sales presentations, demonstrations, and SOW reviews 

  • Assist sales in assessing potential services to meet customer needs and prepare detailed specifications for the implementation of customer solutions 

  • Lead executive-level technical demonstrations at organizations articulating our value proposition 

  • Deliver in-depth online and in-person demonstrations of our service as well as at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc. 

  • Assist in the development, validation, and maintenance of sales materials, knowledge bases, product documentation, and tutorial videos. 

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Customer-oriented and sales-driven individual 

  • Skilled in data management, data warehousing, data orchestration, data integration technologies, and data visualization 

  • Self-motivated and organized to learn and apply new technologies to craft solutions meeting client needs 

  • Understand and enjoy working with data and data technologies from databases, ETL, data governance, and business intelligence tools 

  • Thrive in an environment where you can take ownership of a variety of projects and see them through to completion 

  • A builder of solutions based on a true understanding of customer requirements demonstrating the art of the possible 

  • 2 - 4 years of customer-facing experience in presales or sales engineering of enterprise software solutions 

  • Demonstrated technical experience in cloud data technologies and environments: [data warehouses, Data quality, MDM, BI tools,] and [Azure, AWS, Google] 

  • Expert-level presentation, customer service, financial/business acumen, and negotiation skills at all levels of customer engagement 

  • Ability to learn new technical subject matter quickly 

  • Ability to be flexible and to adapt to changing, situations, tools, and requirements  Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills 

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent  Ability to travel 

  • Has a positive self-starter attitude and desire to exceed expectations at every opportunity 

  • Has strong problem-solving skills and a high degree of creativity/resourcefulness 

  • Is highly motivated driven and is a self-starting individual with a positive attitude  Thrives in a face-paced environment with excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize 

  • Proven ability to work within a start-up organization with a track record of success  Familiarity with Snowflake, Matillion, dbt, Fivetran, Atlan, Looker, and Sigma is a plus
